Voice notes aren't transcribing.

Make sure you granted Microphone and Speech Recognition permission in iOS Settings → Contacts and Notes Pro. Transcription runs on your device.

How does the free week work?

New subscribers get the first week free. It is an App Store introductory offer, so you start it from the app's upgrade screen and it is billed through your Apple Account. Cancel before the week is up and you pay nothing. Leave it running and it becomes a paid subscription at the usual price. If you have used the offer before, the app will not claim it again.

Do I have to pay anything?

No. The app is free to use: dictate a note, attach it to a person, search everything you have said, all with no account and no card. The free tier keeps up to 30 notes you make (imported notes do not count; notes above the cap stay readable and editable) and shows your 300 most recent contacts. Pro is only for when you want the limit gone and the extras on.

What's included in Pro?

Every contact, no note limit, the AI write-up of a rambling note with its to-dos ready for Reminders, the business-card scanner, My card (your details as a QR code) bilingual capture (tap to switch language), two-way Google Contacts sync, and sending notes to Obsidian, Notion, OneNote, Trello and Google Tasks. The AI write-up covers up to 300 notes a month and 40 a day (a note longer than about 5 minutes counts as more than one). The app is in 14 languages: English (US, UK), Spanish, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese (Brazil), Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian. €4.99 a month, with the first week free for new subscribers.

How do I record without opening the app?

Double-tap the back of your phone. You bind it once: iOS Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap → Double Tap → Start a Voice Note. The app explains it under Settings → Quick capture. The Action Button, the Lock Screen and Siri work the same way. Apple does not let an app set this up for you, which is why it is a one-time job.

I have a code from PeraByte Labs. Where do I enter it?

On the upgrade screen, tap Redeem a code at the bottom. That opens Apple's own redemption sheet. Subscription offer codes cannot be redeemed in the App Store app itself, only here.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Manage or cancel anytime in iOS Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions.

Is my data private?

Your audio never leaves the phone: transcription runs on the device and the recording is discarded. Notes are stored on your phone. There is no account and no tracking, and we store no device identifier or IP address. Anonymous usage counts (no note text, no names) help us improve the app; switch them off in Settings, Privacy & security. If you pick Google as your contact source, your contacts and notes go straight between your phone and your own Google account; we never receive them. The AI write-up (Pro) is the one thing that goes through us, and only after you agree to it: when you use it, the text of that note goes through our EU server to our AI model provider (today Anthropic's Claude) on its paid business API, which does not train on it, and comes straight back. We do not store it (the provider may keep it up to 30 days for abuse monitoring), and nothing from your address book is sent. In short: Note text is processed in transit and never stored at rest by us. We keep a daily count per subscription under a one-way code, plus an anonymous daily total. Anonymous TelemetryDeck usage counts can be switched off in Settings. Google sync and integrations go directly from your phone to that service. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

It says the AI is at capacity.

The write-up runs through a shared service with a daily ceiling, so that the service stays affordable for everyone. Pro includes up to 300 write-ups a month and 40 a day. Our server keeps one anonymous total per day plus one count per subscription per day, stored under a one-way code and deleted the next day. The daily limits reset every day, your monthly allowance every month. Your note is saved either way: nothing is lost, and you can run the write-up on it later.
